Let’s make and decorate our own original camera to find out! What do you see through the lens?
In this workshop, we will create a camera obscura using a magnifying glass, paper pack, and some tracing paper to show how cameras work. A hands-on lesson in the history of the camera and image-making.

Shabo has a photography studio in Kitaoji, Kyoto. The studio services include family and advertising photography, as well as wet plate photography, which was widespread in Japan at the end of the Edo period and during the Meiji period. Shado runs workshops on photography which have been held at various locations including marches, events, offices and school classes. In 2019 and 2023 Shabo was in charge of wet plate photography workshops in the KYOTOGRAPHIE Public Program. Shabo also runs 'Shippan Labo', a workshop for experiencing and learning wet plate photography.
