Time travel through photography! Step into the past and bring history to life with photography and collage.

Led by professional photographer Kosuke Arakawa, this hands-on workshop is inspired by Being There, a KYOTOGRAPHIE 2025 exhibition by Lee Shulman (The Anonymous Project) & Omar Victor Diop. In the exhibition, Senegalese artist Omar inserts himself into 1950s and 1960s America vintage photos, playfully reimagining history with humour and depth.

Now it’s your turn! Kids will bring their own historical or vintage photo and have their portrait taken in a mini photo studio, striking a pose to match their chosen image. Then, using cut-and-paste collage techniques, they'll blend their modern selves into the past, creating a one-of-a-kind time-traveling artwork.

The final touch? A beautifully framed masterpiece using washi paper from Kamiji Kakimoto and handcrafted details—ready to take home as a keepsake. This fun, interactive workshop sparks creativity, storytelling, and a whole new way to see history through the lens of photography.

What to Bring:
* 2 old photographs (featuring family members or any scene they wish to be part of) in L size (89 × 127mm).
* Clothing or accessories that resemble those in the selected photos, allowing them to connect more deeply by adopting similar postures, gestures, or outfits during the photoshoot.
