Takayuki Mitsushima (Artist, Acupuncturist)
Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1954, he lost his eyesight around the age of 10. After graduating from the Department of Philosophy at Otani University's Faculty of Letters, he opened an acupuncture clinic. While practicing acupuncture as a profession, he began clay modeling in 1992 and started creating "touchable paintings" using line tape for drawing and cutting sheets in 1995. In 1998, he won the Grand Prize and Silver Prize at the '98 Art Paralympics Nagano. He has collaborated with other artists to create "tactile linked images" and has been exploring new methods of expression, such as "tactile collages," since 2012. In 2020, he established "Atelier Mitsushima," which serves as both a gallery and his own studio. He is dedicated to creating a space where sighted people, those with low vision, and those without vision can become familiar with art.

Hideki Yamakawa (Navigator of art appreciation by dialogue)
Born in 1968 in Kyoto Prefecture, he lost his eyesight shortly after birth due to medical malpractice. Since then, he has lived as a blind person. He attended schools for the blind (now known as special schools for the visually impaired) and boarding houses from kindergarten through high school. In the early 2000s, he began participating in dialogue-based art appreciation and artwork creation workshops organized by "Museum Access View," a group that brings together sighted people, those without vision, and those with low vision to enjoy art together. He later became a member of its administrative staff. In recent years, he has been participating in dialogue-based art appreciation workshops held at museums, galleries, and online, etc., serving as a facilitator and guide for a wide range of people engaging in art appreciation by dialogue.
