Join us for an engaging talk event moderated by Kouki Tange with young members of Fridays For Future KYOTO and The Earth Guardians Japan as guests. The discussion will centre around the critical topics of education, youth, and activism, exploring ways in which young people can take a more active role in addressing environmental issues.

Following the talk, you will be invited to join the KYOTOGRAPHIE Kids & Youth Parade: Let’s Protect the Future.

  • KOUKI TANGE

    Tange is a househusband and father of two who are anti-nuclear and anti-war. Previously in the music and video industry, but leaving after the nuclear accident where he became agonised by the untruths of advertising. He is a founding member of "NOddIN," a social art movement inviting to live with a different perspective. He is the founder of the "What Happens Before War" animation project. His works include "A Letter to the Future," "Onlookers," "A Letter of Concern for You," "TV Truth #1 With a foolproof feature," "Freedom's Bookshelf," and "Concept Capsule Toy - What is Money?.” He is also a member of a fictional political party, the 'Free Uninhabited Party.' Tange aims to become simply a good and just human being, without discrimination or judgement, destruction of nature, violence and war.

  • Naito Hikari

    Born in 1996. Completed a master's degree at Kyoto University's Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies. After a six-month internship at an adult education institution in Denmark with SDGs as its curriculum, she has been working at Kyoto Environmental Activities Association since 2019. In order to simultaneously realize a decarbonized society and an affluent society where future generations can dream, she is engaged in the management of the "2050 Kyoso (京創: Kyoto + Co-Creation) Meeting", and other activities.

  • Mao Morita

    A 16-year-old high school student, coming from Hyogo. Bilingual in Japanese and English. After coming back to Japan from 5 years in Singapore American School, she passed the EIKEN Grade Pre-1 when she was in her 6th grade in elementary school. She first started to hold interest in international relations when she was in her second grade at junior high school, at the time she passed the A Grade of the United Nations Associations Test of English, then the EIKEN Grade 1. She has been a member of Earth Guardians Japan from 2022, attending several meetings, and organizing events. She has also participated in her school’s student council for two quarters, and now is the president. She has emceed in Japanese and English for the Multilingual Speech Contest for 2021 and 2022. While being the vice president of her school’s volunteering club, she has participated in the World Youth Meeting 2021 and Asian Student Exchange Program 2021, and took place in the English ICT Conference 2023, broadening the range of her social action by making presentations and discussions.

  • Tenshin Shindo

    Junior student of Kyoto Sangyo University. 20 years old. Started activities as an organizer of 「Fridays For Future」, which is a grass-roots movement of climate crisis mainly oriented by young people. On the other hand, through some activities such as [#選挙で聞きたい気候危機 (Questions On Climate Crisis To Be Asked At The Election)], he is acting in a local area to seek for changes in the society centered by citizens focusing on the climate crisis.
