Unseen River is a combination of conceptual, non-material layers formed by the human mind. These particles are like our emotions and our cells. From a single person, there are multiple tendrils that stretch out, forming an ‘unseen river,’ connecting us to others. After a friend’s death, Horii began to believe and understand that the body not only exists in the present moment but it is in infinite circulation, moving constantly throughout the world. To create this series Horii spent 10-years with his subjects, capturing traces of memory in the images and blurring the boundaries between the physical and metaphysical.
